Due to the success of our 2015 conference we have decided to run another conference in 2016.

This year’s conference is aimed at all who have attended LLT training over the 13 years we have been in existance, but is also available to anyone who wants to know more about LLT training and get a taster of the LLT experience.

This conference will give participants the chance to:

  • keep up to date with research and practice
  • network with fellow instructors from a wide range of settings and disciplines
  • meet some top names in the research world in the fields of Falls, Osteoporosis, Visual Impairment and Exercise for the Older Person
  • review technique and learn new exercises and strategies to improve practice
  • share successes and troubles
  • meet the LLT team (tutors and office staff)

The conference programme and workshop schedule are both now available to view.

We hope you will enjoy the diverse nature of the workshops so that you can choose your interests. Once your place has been booked and paid for we will send you a form to choose your preferred workshop choices. Please note that workshop allocations are on a first come basis so please book early to avoid disappointment.

We have kept the cost for attendance the same as last year. The conference places will be filled on a first come first served basis (120 places). The cost covers registration, your conference pack (bag, pen, programme and handouts), a password to the post-conference webpages and a buffet dinner at the end of the day before you head on home.

We can either accept a card payment or we can send you (an individual attending the conference) an invoice for you to pay by cheque and then you can reclaim from your funder. After payment you will receive a PAID RECEIPT, which you can use to claim from your PCT/Council/Employer.

LLT members will receive a 10% discount off the total cost of the conference. If you’re not already a member contact the LLT office to find out about joining and receive this great offer.

We are currently in the process of discussing REPs CPD points with Skills Active.

We have an ‘early bird‘ offer which lasts until the end of June.

EARLY BIRD Conference Attendance Fee = £130 + VAT (£156) – book and pay by 30th June 2016.
Normal Rate Conference Attendance Fee = £160 + VAT (£192) – paid for after 1st July 2016.

LLT conf venue The Welcome Centre Coventry

The venue will again be in Coventry – at The Welcome Centre. The Welcome Centre is a purpose built conference and events centre located in the heart of Coventry city in the beautiful county of Warwickshire.

Located on the South East corner of Coventry city centre, between Junction 4 and 5 on the inner ring road, close to the Coventry University Tech Centre and within easy reach of Coventry train station. Sat Nav Address: 47 Parkside, Coventry, CV1 2HG. There is limited parking at the venue and also a nearby multi-storey car park.

By train
The Welcome Centre is a 10 minute walk from the main train station in Coventry. This is served by the West Coast Mainline (Virgin) with regular half hourly services from London which is just an hour away. Cross Country services also stop at Coventry, linking the City to Birmingham, Bristol, Derby, Leeds, Manchester, Nottingham, Oxford and other towns and cities around the UK.

By air
Coventry is just a short distance from Birmingham International Airport. Direct trains run every 5 minutes from Birmingham International train station (next to the airport) and take 10 minutes to reach Coventry. Taxis from the airport take approximately 20 minutes.

There are lots of local hotels nearby, including the Ibis Coventry, Britannia Coventry and Premier Inn – all coming in at around £50-60 a night. LLT are not able to arrange accommodation on your behalf, we know you will find the best accommodation for your purposes.
