To better prepare you for the face to face training day and familiarise yourself with some of the concepts included in the course we are including some pre-course E-learning which you can access via the Later Life Training E-learning portal.
The pre-course learning is designed to;
• Provide a 4 week period of preparatory learning to support your contact day
• Break down learning into bite sized pieces
• Allow time for reflection, questions and discussion on the forum
• Support flexible learning
• Direct you towards essential information/learning about the disease of dementia.
(NB This information is not included/covered in any greater detail during the contact day, but we do think it is essential you have this background before we meet.
You will receive an email with an enrolment key (password) to access the online training portal. A minimum of 4 hours will be required to carry out online work, which include some reading, watching some short on-line film clips and completing online tasks. Timelines for completion will be set and must be adhered to. Please note that completion of all online tasks is essential and forms part of the CPD learning.
Please check that you are able to meet the requirements of this blended learning approach with regard to access to suitable internet connections and software requirements. The minimum browser version that can be used is: Google Chrome (30+), Mozilla Firefox (25+), Safari 6 and Internet Explorer 9 or 10. We recommend that work is not carried out on a tablet or smartphone. Your LLT course tutor will monitor and support completion of these tasks.
