At LLT, because directors and tutors all actively work ‘in the field’ (with stroke survivors, and older adults at risk of fall), we have awareness and understanding of the challenges faced by services during these ‘lean’ and changing times of funding cuts and requirements for cost savings.

In response to these challenges and in response to a number of services approaching LLT to offer a more bespoke approach to training needs and solutions, we are committed to supporting services who want to work towards ‘gold standard’ evidence based services. Innovative/bespoke training approaches are only possible where ‘services’ can provide supplementary support to the training process in addition to the expert training delivered by LLT tutors. Whilst adhering to the requirements of the qualification in content and standard, a bespoke course format will take into account the specified needs of the learners and consider records of prior learning in some aspects of the course content.

Whether your training needs require endorsement by REPs (Register of Exercise Professionals) or whether you simply require in-house training for your NHS teams with no requirement for qualification or REPs CPD, please contact us to discuss how LLT could work with you in achieving a bespoke trainings solution for your service.

Bespoke Training Examples

  • Intensive, integrated OEP/CBE training (in collaboration with services for delivery of practice elements)
  • Service meetings with commissioners; discuss implementation issues/challenges and training approaches
  • Service training days for physiotherapists (community, acute, NH, mental health, LD) on update on exercise to prevent falls
  • Physical activity updates – physical activity guidelines

Some recent feedback

At an in-service training day in Nottingham – for physiotherapists and occupational therapists in a range of acute and community based services…arranged by Kate Robertson, Consultant Therapist in Falls Prevention County Health Partnerships / Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust

I came to your course in Nottingham yesterday and just wanted to say I have been really inspired. It was a brilliant session and I now have lots of new ideas and a new found enthusiasm to encourage exercise in every patient I see” Amy Whinnett, June 2013.
